I am a 20 year old college student, and on October 24th, 2007 I decided to turn my life around. I was obese, depressed, and was lacking in self confidence. Now, as of December 19th, 2007 I am over 40 pounds lighter; having dropped 6 pant sizes, and two shirt sizes- I will do whatever it takes to not get back to where i was. How did I do it you might ask? – Hardwork, determination, and moral support. This fact alone should tell us that eating a purely low fat menu is not the answer to losing weight. Check the labels, if the food is Low Fat, it is loaded up with calories.

Low Calorie Diets Don’t Work
You won’t lose weight using a Low Calorie Diet Plan for Weight Loss either. Once again, check the label, if the product is Low Calorie, it is usually loaded with fat or it taste like total crap. Besides that, eating low calories is the worst thing that you can do for your body, since that will only slow down your body’s fat burning process and ruin all chances of you losing weight, (low calorie diets may allow a few pounds of weight loss for the first week, but then after that, all weight loss comes to a complete stop this is known as a dieting plateau). You can never get slim by starving yourself.

Low carbohydrate diets have become popular in recent years, but the trouble) with low carbohydrate diets is that they are too strict and Way Too Hard To Follow for the average person. The fourth of the tips for weight loss fast, is to eat your vegetables.  Without a doubt, vegetables are at the top of the list for healthy foods.  They are great for helping you control your weight, but they still keep you healthy with the right nutrition and vitamins your body needs.

Today’s whole grain cereals are much tastier than the cereals of old.  A great way to get your necessary fruit and grains is to mix them together. You add flavor and variety to the mix.  If you are a bread lover you should choose whole grain bread. Once again the whole grain breads of today are much easier to eat and enjoy.

Now here is a extra tip just for you. Stay away from the foods that contain a large percentage of trans fats, increased levels of sodium and saturated fat. Take the few extra seconds necessary to check the ingredients on the labels of the containers.

It is quite obvious there are many other healthy food choices you can make. It is also obvious that appropriate portion size is important to your health and your weight. Furthermore, when you go the extra mile and include physical exercise with your healthy food choice; you will be even healthier and keep your weight under control.
